PROPERTY RENOVATION

Our clients lived in this Edwardian property, in Chorleywood, for 18 months before they decided how they wanted to renovate it.  The work required was extensive and took place over a period of 7 months, during which time they moved into rented accommodation.

Internally we re-arranged the entire ground floor which involved removing walls, ripping out joists riddled with woodworm and moving a manhole cover situated in the middle of the hallway.  We created a new archway to match the existing arch in the hallway – opening up a view from the front door to the back of the house.

We built new spindles and created a new bullnose for the staircase, laid 140 square metres of herringbone oak floor, installed dry and wet underfloor heating, carried out new plumbing and electrics throughout.

We repositioned the downstairs toilet, lounge and kitchen.  Our Bespoke Division won the contract to make, supply and fit a bespoke real wood kitchen with numerous intricate and unique features. Other kitchen companies in contention for this work included Tom Howley and Martin Moore.  In addition to this work the bespoke team handmade and installed Edwardian skirting and coving and made new internal doors to match existing throughout the property.

On the 1st floor, we reinforced the ceiling to support the client’s beautiful chandelier.  And on this floor, we renovated two bathrooms – creating one huge bathroom for the master bedroom.  Work in the bathroom and dressing rooms included making bespoke furniture to match existing furniture, painting and renovating existing cupboards, replacing door hinges, handles etc.

Externally, we carried out major works including running new drainage and repositioning of man hole covers.  We removed an old aluminium conservatory and prepared all ground works and new walls for Westbury Garden Rooms to install a new orangery.   We raised the levels of the existing swimming pool to make it look more aesthetically pleasing and we landscaped the swimming pool, patio and orangery area – this involved laying approximately 180 square metres of Indian stone patio with no drains.

We replaced all ground floor windows with handmade original box sash windows made by MPG Bespoke and we restored all casement sash windows on the upper floors of the house.  We also built a new chimney and re-stoned the area we had been working to match the new chimney in with the old.

MORE PHOTOS FROM THIS PROJECT

During the course of the project we added 2 more bathroom renovations, the entire patio and pool works and a complete redecoration throughout to the list of works.  Nothing fazed Kevin and his team; they worked tirelessly to create our beautiful home – all the time ensuring they kept to our wishes of renovating the entire property without making it look ‘new’.  Even with the extra work we requested, they liaised with external companies on our behalf to ensure everything was finished by the deadline given.  Towards the end of the project they started on site as early as 5.30am just to make sure everything was finished for us to move back to.  They are truly great people and deserve the highest praise for their integrity and dedication.  We really can’t speak highly enough of them”
